Have you tried to find a solution for Mabuk? How do you stop the water from a leaking seawater valve?

If you have given up, or you want to see how he finally did it, please scroll down the page and see.

First, Mabuk cut a piece of sheet copper to the shape shown on the left.

Because the pressure of the water is quite low, probably less than 0.5 bar, he is confident that a 2 mm thick copper plate will be able to withstand it.

The diameter of the plate is made slightly bigger than the pipe orifice of the pump.

Then, he loosen nuts and bolts of a flange that is downstream of the leaking valve.

He also removed one or two of the bolts so that he is able to slide the blank plate in between the flange faces. The protruding part of the blank becomes useful for this purpose.

When sliding in the blank plate, he is very careful not to damage the rubber gasket.

He also makes sure that the gasket is at the water side, so that it is able to seal the water.

After the blank plate is located at the center of the pipe orifice, the bolts and nuts are installed back and all are tightened back.

The blank plate will be able to seal off any water from the leaking valve, and the water will be completely stopped.
